Há grande carência de informações quanto à adubação com Nitrogênio e Potássio para a produção de minimilho. Quando colhido antes do início da formação de grãos, as quantidades de nutrientes exigidas podem ser diferenciadas. Por essa razão, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar a resposta do minimilho às adubações nitrogenada e potássica em solo de textura média na região de Maringá, gerando dados que possibilitam a recomendação da aplicação de doses adequadas desses nutrientes para a cultura, evitando os desperdícios e a contaminação ambiental. Os experimentos foram conduzidos na Fazenda Experimental de Iguatemi, na safra verão 2010/2011 e safrinha 2011. O delineamento experimental para os dois experimentos foi blocos casualizados no esquema fatorial 4 x 4, utilizando-se quatro doses de nitrogênio (N) (0, 50, 75 e 100 kg ha-1) e quatro de potássio (K) (0, 20, 40 e 60 kg ha-1), aplicadas 50% na semeadura e 50% em cobertura no estádio V6 de desenvolvimento. O cultivar de milho-pipoca utilizado foi o IAC 125, híbrido triplo top cross, de ciclo precoce. Para as condições em que foi realizada a pesquisa, o potássio e a interação NK não influenciaram a altura de plantas e o comprimento das espiguetas comerciais na safra verão. A máxima produtividade de minimilho, na safra verão, foi obtida com a aplicação de 64,35 kg ha-1 de nitrogênio, não havendo incremento na produtividade com a aplicação de potássio. Na safrinha, a maior produtividade foi alcançada com a combinação das doses 60,9 e 51,23 kg ha-1 de nitrogênio e potássio, respectivamente.

There is a lack of information regarding nitrogen and potassium fertilization on the production of baby corn. When ears are collected before grain formation, the amounts of required nutrients can be differentiated. This study evaluated the response of baby corn at different nitrogen and potassium fertilization rates in a medium texture soil in the region of Maringá PR Brazil. Data for adequate nutrient recommendation are produced for the crop, avoiding losses and environmental contamination. The experiment was conducted in the Iguatemi Experimental Farm during the summer harvest of 2010-2011 and the second corn crop of 2011. The experiment was arranged in a 4x4 factorial randomized block design with a, with 4 rates of nitrogen (0, 50, 75 and 100 kg ha-1) and 4 rates of potassium (0, 20, 40 and 60 kg ha-1), with 50% applied at seeding and 50% topdressed at the V6 development stage. The popcorn triple hybrid cultivar IAC 125 was used in the experiment. The results showed that potassium and the interaction NK did not influence plant height and length of commercial ears. Maximum babycorn yield was achieved with 64.35 kg ha-1 of nitrogen. The combination of the rates 60.9 of nitrogen and 51.23 kg ha-1 of potassiumprovided the highest yield in the second corn crop of baby corn.

Os biorreguladores vegetais são substâncias que podem incrementar o crescimento e o desenvolvimento vegetal e estimular a divisão celular, podendo interferir na germinação das sementes. Assim, neste trabalho objetivou-se avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes sob a ação de biorregulador. Utilizaram-se sementes de nove cultivares comerciais de soja (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) e três concentrações (400; 500 e 600 mL 100 kg-1 de sementes) do biorregulador Stimulate®, além da testemunha, constituída de tratamento com água destilada. Testes de germinação e de vigor foram realizados em sementes, observando-se a percentagem de germinação (primeira contagem e contagem final), percentagem de plântulas normais fortes, velocidade de germinação, comprimento da raiz primária e da parte aérea, bem como a biomassa da matéria seca das plântulas. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, com quatro tratamentos e quatro ou cinco repetições, dependendo do teste. Doses crescentes de biorregulador não influenciaram a germinação e a biomassa da matéria seca das sementes; entretanto, podem aumentar a velocidade de germinação, dependendo do cultivar.

Plant growth regulators can enhance growth and development of plants and induce cell division. They can also interfere in seed germination. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of seeds treated with a plant growth regulator. Seeds of nine soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) commercial cultivars were treated with four concentrations (400; 500 and 600 mL 100 kg-1 seeds) of the plant growth regulator Stimulate®, in addition to a control treated with distilled water. Tests of seed germination and vigor were carried out: it was calculated the germination percentage (first counting and final counting), percentage of normal seedlings; and speed of germination, length of the primary root and the aerial part and dry weight of seedlings were recorded. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with four treatments and four or five repetitions depending on the test. Increasing doses of the plant growth regulator did not influence the germination and the dry weight of the seeds, however, they can increase the speed of germination depending on the cultivar.

O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da aplicação de biorregulador no desempenho agronômico das plantas e na produtividade de sementes da cultura da soja cultivar CD 216. O trabalho foi desenvolvido em dois anos agrícolas (2005/06 e 2006/07). Os tratamentos foram compostos pela combinação do tratamento de sementes (0 e 500 mL 100 kg-1 de sementes) com três doses de biorregulador (250; 375 e 500 mL ha-1) aplicadas via foliar em dois estádios de desenvolvimento da cultura (V5 e R3), mais a testemunha sem aplicação. As características avaliadas foram a altura das plantas, número de vagens por planta, produtividade e massa de 1.000 sementes. As características altura das plantas e número de vagens por planta não foram influenciadas pela aplicação do biorregulador nos dois anos agrícolas. No ano agrícola de 2005/06, a maior produtividade de sementes (2.927 kg ha-1) foi alcançada pela aplicação da dose de 211 mL ha-1 de biorregulador via foliar no estádio R3, associado ao tratamento de sementes. No segundo ano agrícola, não houve diferença significativa (p > 0,05) entre os tratamentos na produtividade de sementes, muito embora os resultados alcançados tenham sido superiores aos obtidos no primeiro ano. Um dos princípios básicos para melhorar a eficácia do biorregulador na cultura da soja é a condição climática adversa.

The purpose of the work was to verify the effect of the application of a plant growth regulator on the agronomic traits of plants and on soybean seed yield, cultivar CD 216. The work was developed during two agricultural years (2005/06 and 2006/07). The treatments were composed by the combination of seed treatments (0 and 500 mL 100 kg-1 of seeds) with three doses of plant growth regulator (250, 375 and 500 mL ha-1) applied to the leaves in two stages of the culture's development (V5 and R3), plus the control without application. The features evaluated were: plant height, number of seedpods per plant, yield and mass of one thousand seeds. The features of plant height and number of seedpods per plant were not influenced by the application of the plant growth regulator in the two agricultural years. In the agricultural years of 2005/06, the greater seed yield (2.927 kg ha-1) was reached with the application of 211 mL ha-1 of plant growth regulator to the leaves at the R3 stage, together with seed treatment. In the second agricultural year there was no significant difference (p > 0.05) between the treatments in seed yield, although the results were superior to those obtained in the first year. One of the basic principles to improve the efficacy of the plant growth regulator in soybean crops is an adverse climatic condition.
